Translator's obligations

TRANSLATIONS

Before the submission of a translation a translator must read the translated text, proofread it and check it for consistency with the original format. Should any doubts occur, before continuing the translator is required to contact the relevant project co-ordinator.

For sworn translations, the translation should be performed in compliance with the Sworn Translator’s Code (TEPIS). A printed copy of the translation should be delivered to Eurologos-Gliwice office. Normal (non-sworn) translations can be submitted by e-mail, unless agreed otherwise.

Translations are priced based on the number of unit pages of the target document, calculated with the use of the MS Word Statistics tool (unless agreed otherwise in the job terms and conditions).

INTERPRETATION

Upon acceptance of intepretation work, an interpreter is required to:

  • prepare him/herself with regard to the content of the job, i.e. read the possible reference materials received from Eurologos-Gliwice and explore all possible sources of information on the vocabulary and terminology relating to the theme of the conference/congress/meeting,
  • arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes before the start,r
  • wear an appropriate outfit, exhibit good manners, and follow professional etiquette and diplomatic protocol as required,
  • closely cooperate with other interpreters and technical staff in order to promote the image of Eurologos-Gliwice Translation Agency.
