On 6th and 7th October we provided simultaneous ad consecutive interpreting in the following language combinations: Polish ↔ English ↔ Russian during the Small and Medium Enterprises Congress organized by the Chamber of Commere and Industry in Katowice and the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. The Congress was attended by two and a half thousand guests from home and abroad, and its inauguration session saw such distingueshed guests as Prime Minister Donald Tusk, President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek and BCC Chairman Marek Goliszewski.

We also supplied conference equipment and ensured technical service of simultaneous interpreting.

The main theme of the Congress was issues related to the current state of SMEs in Poland and EU member states, with an emphasis on the barriers and threats that entrepreneurs encounter.

The panel sessions, held in four different locations, concerned the role of business environment and local authorities in creating conditions conducive to the development and enhancement of the SME sector potential, internationalization of Polish companies and cooperation between science and business for the development of innovation-based economy. Discussions on family businesses, business ethics and corporatre responsibilty were also held.

The Congress was accompanied by Business Expo, offering services and products of nearly 70 institutions to SMEs. We were among those whose services were advertised.

Thge Business Expo Services and Products to SMEs Fair was opened by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Waldemar Pawlak, Minister in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland Olgierd Dziekoński and Tadeusz Donocik, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice.
